A Truly Unique Game Convention
Farmageddon is an annual game convention held in Farmer City, Illinois at the Farmer City American Legion. We feature an atmosphere that is more like a game night with friends than a standard convention. We have a full kitchen and full bar on site with a relaxed, sound-controlled room that allows you to hear your GM and socialize without disturbing games.
Our event lineup consists of Pathfinder Society, Starfinder Society, and D&D Adventurers League..
Supporting our Youth
We donate all proceeds to the local scouting and other youth supporting organizations. Scouting is a great way to develop character, leadership, confidence, and practical skills in our youth. Funds from Farmageddon help provide those opportunities in many ways from camp and membership fees to food budgets and awards. This is the genesis and primary motivation for the event.
Band of Brothers and Sisters
Farmageddon is hosted by the Knights of the Octagon, a local gaming group that has been active for about 17 years with player experience going back over 40 years. Many of the players have been active in the local scouting organizations for years. We're gamers like you, but first of all we're proud moms and dads.
Our Process
All of our events will be posted on Warhorn.net for registration and sign-ups. Events will be posted first just for GM acquisition, then after Winter War weekend, player sign-ups.
Fees are by day. $10 for Friday only, $15 for Saturday only, and $10 for Sunday only, or $25 for the whole weekend. We don't do GM credits, we do GM gifts. As the organizer, I pay my $25 for the weekend whether I play or not. It's for the kids.
Facilities
Farmer City is located between Bloomington-Normal and Champaign-Urbana at the crossroads of Interstate 74, US 150, & Rt 54.
Farmer City American Legion features a full kitchen where we take pride in offering a variety of different homemade food. Their full bar has a great selection of beverages, including adult beverages at small town prices.
There is free WiFi and an ATM on the premises for food and con purchases.
There are two hotels close by
Days Inn, 975 E Clinton Ave, Farmer City. 3 min. travel 309-928-9434
Pike Inn, 705 S. Persimmons Court, Leroy 10 min. travel 309-962-4439
The Pike Inn is newer. Costs a little more, but there haven't been any complaints about it.
Code of Conduct
Since there is a licensed bar at the American Legion, NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED. The Legion will enforce who is served and who isn't.
Again, our atmosphere is game night with your friends. So don't do anything you wouldn't do at your friend's house. Well, this is a public space, do better.
Please no loud swearing, violence, bigotry, or otherwise obnoxious behavior. And we obviously do take pictures and sometimes post them on this site and Facebook. We don't edit so don't embarrass your mother.
Farmageddon XII Special Event
Year Three and we're going to shake things up a bit. Teams of five will tackle scenarios, each run by it's own GM. Players will move tables to take on the exact same challenges, run by that scenario's GM. All teams will face the final challenge, but points scored in the scenarios will determine how soon they start.
Drink Specials
The bartenders go the extra mile, with drink specials like Dragon's Blood and Goblin Juice. Also, all other drinks are small town priced.
